The American Bresse Club is a gathering place for breeders, hobbyists, and homesteaders who keep the American Bresse — a New World cousin of the legendary French Bresse de Bourg-en-Bresse. Renowned for its fine-grained, marbled meat and striking white plumage with steel-blue legs, the Bresse is one of the most celebrated table birds in the world.
Our goal is straightforward: work together to improve the American Bresse and bring the breed up to a recognized standard. By sharing breeding records, conformation notes, and husbandry experience, members aim to preserve the traits that make the Bresse exceptional while developing a healthy, productive line suited to American flocks.
